Amphenol RF has expanded its portfolio of extreme exposure solutions with the addition of new N-Type cable mount connector configurations. These N-Type plugs are now available for LMR 195, 200 and 600 cable types, delivering more design flexibility for harsh environment applications. Extreme exposure RF interconnects are engineered with a unique, chromium-free tin-nickel alloy plating that provides an added layer of protection, ensuring reliable RF performance in challenging conditions. This alternative plating makes them ideal for marine environments, telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, and military applications.
Extreme exposure connectors are designed for improved durability, featuring secure threaded mating and are IP67 rated. These plugs deliver high-frequency performance for up to 720 hours of direct exposure to salt spray. They are constructed with brass bodies and gold-plated beryllium copper contacts. The body, ferrule, coupling nut and retaining ring all feature the alternate tin-nickel alloy plating. Extreme exposure N-Type plugs operate up to 6 GHz and are capable of withstanding high operating temperatures up to 165C.
These connectors join a growing line of rugged RF solutions developed to withstand moisture, salt and mechanical stress without compromising signal integrity.
