Unidirectional TVS diodes for automotive applications supplied in a compact package

The Texas Instruments TSDxx-Q1 series are unidirectional TVS diodes designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from ESD and surge events. These devices are automotive-qualified and can safely dissipate ESD strikes up to ±30 kV for both contact and air discharge, exceeding the IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 standard. This makes them suitable for designs that must meet the highest robustness requirements in harsh electrical environments.

The TSDxx-Q1 family combines fast response time, low dynamic resistance, and low capacitance. The low capacitance ensures signal integrity on high-speed data lines such as CAN, LIN, USB, HDMI, or Ethernet, while the strong clamping capability protects downstream ICs from overvoltage stress on both data and power rails. The unidirectional nature is optimised for applications where only positive-to-ground surge suppression is needed.

The devices are supplied in an industry-standard SOD-323 package. This small footprint enables usage in dense PCB layouts while maintaining easy solderability and drop-in compatibility with existing designs.

Overall, the TSDxx-Q1 diodes deliver reliable, space-efficient protection for a variety of automotive and industrial systems that require high ESD robustness and low capacitance performance.
