Concurrent has revealed Apollo, a compact, rugged edge computing system engineered to satisfy the evolving needs of modern defence operations. Built to house a conduction-cooled SOSA-aligned processor board with mission-centric I/O, it delivers powerful processing in an ultra-compact, MIL-grade form factor, allowing deployment in constrained environments without sacrificing performance.
The system is not just a smaller box – it is a fully capable tactical computing node. Designed for use cases where SWaP is critical, it integrates seamlessly into UAV avionics bays, portable field kits, or dismounted soldier systems. Its compact footprint allows faster deployment, greater platform compatibility, and flexibility at the edge of operations, eradicating the necessity for bulky enclosures or power-hungry systems.
Apollo's integrated 1Gb and 10Gb Ethernet supplies high-speed, low-latency communications across distributed systems. TSN can be enabled for applications that require precision timing, deterministic behaviour, and synchronised operations across tactical edge nodes.
This makes the system ideal for use cases such as distributed sensors, control surfaces, or ISR systems that must remain tightly coordinated – even in complex environments.
Engineered to meet MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810G, and MIL-STD-704 environmental standards, the system thrives when employed in challenging shock, vibration, temperature, and electromagnetic-challenged environments. Its sealed, modular design ensures ease of integration, maintenance, and long-term reliability – wherever the mission takes it.
"Defence operations are increasingly defined by their ability to adapt and respond fast," said Brent Salgat, chief revenue officer at Concurrent "Apollo integrates quickly, operates reliably, and delivers the compute power needed to succeed at the edge."
Key features of the system:
As defence architectures evolve toward distributed and modular networks, the system delivers the computing power needed to allow C4ISR, sensor fusion, and electronic defence systems at the tactical edge. Its compact design and rapid deployability deliver a clear advantage for missions requiring speed, flexibility, and resilience.
The company continues to advance embedded computing solutions with a focus on innovation, reliability, and exceptional service. With Apollo, the company further solidifies its position as a trusted provider of mission-critical technology for the most demanding environments.
