New removal and installation tool saves time and avoids damage in SMPM maintenance

Amphenol RF has introduced the SMPM Bullet Tool into its growing portfolio of tools designed to streamline installation and removal processes. This new tool is compatible with machined and stamped versions of the SMPM bullet, providing widespread compatibility. The tool permits easy insertion or removal of SMPM bullets from the SMPM jack, permitting sensitive and fragile projects to be easily completed. Also, the time it takes to remove and replace SMPM bullets is greatly decreased, improving efficiency. Gaining access to connectors in applications where there are tight spaces is frictionless through the usage of this tool.

The materials used on the tool’s removable and swappable collet are nickel-plated beryllium copper, while the body is constructed from nickel-plated brass. The thumb knob is made from black Delrin and, when pressed, opens the collet and readies the tool for the SMPM bullet insertion or extraction. This tool is specially designed and suited for use with field technicians, assembly lines, labs, and all applications that use SMPM bullets.

Offered as an off-the-shelf solution, the SMPM Bullet Tool is the first in a new line of tools engineered for precision bullet insertion and removal.
