SMD high current four terminal kelvin shunt resistors range expanded

07-08-2025 | Stackpole | Passives

High sensing accuracy for high currents demands low resistance values. However, not all applications or power topologies can use the lowest resistance values. Because of the wide range of power delivery designs, some power platforms need specific resistance values. Stackpole Electronics recently added the 0.7mΩ value to its popular HCSK2725 size to further improve the range of power supply designs supported.

The HCSK provides a raised element to lower the terminal temperature and reduces the thermal impact on the PCB. Also, it offers power ratings up to 12W in resistance values as low as 0.2mΩ for maximum sensing efficiency under high current loads. The HCSK features a low TCR of 50ppm, minimising the effects of temperature on sensing accuracy. Further, its all-metal element and welded construction provide outstanding pulse handling.
