The RECOM RACM30-K series of cost-effective AC/DC converters is now offered with 36V, 48V, and 54VDC outputs for a wider variety of applications. This is in addition to the 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, +/12V and +/-15V outputs in the existing range. The new parts maintain their UL 60601-1 BF medical certifications for outputs greater than 24VDC, appropriate for home healthcare use, and PoE+ applications are now also supported, with the 54VDC output suitable for power injection with high isolation to ground.

The series features an ultra-wide input range of 88V-305VAC and is offered in wired, open frame or encapsulated PCB, and chassis mount formats with industry-standard pin-outs. A DIN-rail fixing option is also supported with push-in wire terminals. Also, a fully encapsulated version in an IP65 housing, with a 59mm diameter and flying wires, fits into flush-mount wall boxes. The footprint for enclosed parts is just 1.5” x 2” for a full 30W rating from -40C to +60C ambient and to 90C with derating.

The parts are rated OVCIII up to 5000m altitude with outputs categorised as ‘Limited Power Source’.

EMC standard EN 55022 curve ‘B’ is met with a good margin, with floating or grounded outputs in a PELV configuration. In addition to medical certifications, safety certifications are held for various applications, including IT/multimedia, test and measurement, household, and industrial uses, with testing performed up to 90C with derating.

“These new variants of our RACM-30 series address a wider range of applications while keeping the same high performance and robust designs,” comments Michael Schrutka, MSc. AC/DC product manager of RECOM.
