New SMP to SMPM adapter delivers reliable high-density connections in tight spaces

Amphenol RF has expanded its coaxial adapter portfolio with the introduction of a new SMP straight plug to SMPM straight plug adapter. This compact adapter is designed for high-frequency performance while maintaining a low profile, providing reliable connections between SMP and SMPM interfaces. A push-on coupling mechanism permits for seamless mating and unmating, making it excellent for space-constrained applications such as test equipment, radar systems, high-speed computing, and communication network equipment.

Operating at frequencies of up to 40GHz, the 7.24mm long SMP to SMPM adapter features a gold-plated beryllium copper body and contacts, along with a natural PTFE insulator. The unique design enables easy switching between interfaces, equipping engineers with greater design flexibility. Also, the adapter includes radial and axial float to accommodate misalignment when employed with SMP or SMPM board mount connectors.
