New series distribution transformer to power EVs

Bel Fuse Inc. is releasing the 3PH-EV Series, a three-phase distribution transformer in the Signal Transformers product line, power-rated from 45KVA to 450KVA. Purpose-built for EV charging stations, the series provides a scalable and reliable power distribution solution for high demand eMobility applications.

The series, designed for open-frame chassis mounting, features pad-mounting capabilities. Their compact enclosures provide environmental protection and use a high-quality electrical steel core. The series is available in copper windings or aluminium windings for a lower cost option and is designed for 60Hz operation.

Configured with a standard DELTA to WYE and GND, this distribution transformer establishes a stable, grounded neutral on its secondary side. This is crucial for the safe delivery of single-phase power and the reliable operation of protective equipment during fault events.
