Samtec's Nitrowave high-performance microwave cables provide stability during flexure in lab test environments, ATE systems, and low-loss rugged environments such as aerospace, defence and datacom.
Samtec, Inc. has announced production quantity availability of its highly stable, low-loss flexible microwave cable assemblies using Nitrowave cable technology. Nitrowave cable – recognisable by its distinctive Samtec orange FEP jacket – is available in target frequencies of 32GHz, 43.5GHz, 71GHz, 95GHz, and 110GHz, with the following product series: LL032, LL043, LL071, LL095, and LL110. Exceptional stability is achieved through the cable's innovative construction and investments in high-end manufacturing technologies, enabling advancements in process controls.
A Dynamic Performance Layer (DPL) enhances the durability and stability of the cable by eradicating friction between shielding and augmenting strength. This results in more accurate, dependable performance throughout the service life of the cable, even when subjected to consistent movement and bending.
The company's orange Nitrowave cable is available with various connector end options and cable lengths for application-specific adaptability. Connector end options include 1mm, 1.85mm, 2.4mm, 2.92mm, and SMA. Catalogue-standard assembly lengths are 305mm (12"), 610mm (24") and 1000mm (39.37"); custom cable lengths are also available. Optional phase matching of cable pairs to 1, 2, or 5 picoseconds permits precise timing and optimal signal integrity for differential pair signalling.
Target applications include lab test environments, such as test and measurement and high-speed digital testing, as well as ATE systems and low-loss, rugged environments, including aerospace, defence, and datacom. During product development, frequency capability was intentionally designed to exceed conventional industry targets, supporting the advancement of applications and spectrum allocation, as well as improving insertion loss performance.
