Inelco Hunter has announced the availability of a new range of signal-switching relays from FCL Components for automotive applications. Demand for higher-quality, certified high-voltage automotive relays is increasing, and new switching relays have been developed to meet this growing demand.
Conventional signal relays have often been employed to switch signals for onboard equipment in EVs. However, EV batteries usually use 300VDC to 400VDC. This exceeds the expected usage range of many signal relays, which can lead to problems. This newest signal relays series, FTR-B3, FTR-B4, and FTR-C1, are specialised relays for automotive signal switching that address these issues. They can operate at 1mA, 400VDC, and offer a guarantee of 1mA, 500VDC switching (maximum switching power: 0.4W).
The mounting options for these parts are SMT or through-hole PCB mounting. Applications include switching audio circuits for emergency calls, as well as battery controller applications that involve battery monitoring, abnormal detection of over-voltage and over-current, and low/high leakage detection.
The series integrates a proven track record of highly reliable signal switching performance, adding to the specification of 1mA 400VDC switching (maximum switching power 0.4W). The lineup includes the small, low profile FTR-B3; the small, slim FTR-B4; and high insulation/wide gap FTR-C1 series.
FTR-B3/FTR-B4/FTR-C1 series relays are manufactured at a certified factory in compliance with IATF16949, an international standard for automotive management systems. They are UL and CSA-recognised and RoHS-compliant. The series is part of FCL Components’ ongoing expansion of highly reliable, high-performance relays developed for in-vehicle equipment. This series of relays is available for immediate delivery.
