SMART/LAB Innovationsgesellschaft mbH and Vector Informatik GmbH are expanding their collaboration to provide a powerful, user-friendly, and future-ready solution for operators of semi-public charging infrastructure. By combining backend, billing, and load management systems, the partnership delivers a reliable foundation for efficient operation and seamless scalability of charging infrastructure.
SMART/LAB’s backend handles user group management, charging session tracking, tariff management, and ensures billing compliance for EV charging. Meanwhile, Vector’s load management system, vCharM, optimises energy distribution by controlling charging in a grid-friendly manner. It dynamically allocates available power to avoid peak loads and make the most of existing grid connections. Thanks to the close technical alignment between the two systems, no extra integration work is needed. The fully integrated solution is designed for scalability, supporting both small-scale installations and large charging hubs with hundreds of charging points—providing operators with a dependable and expandable infrastructure.
“With Vector, we have a partner whose solution integrates seamlessly into our system landscape,” says Jasper Ewers, head of Product Management at SMART/LAB. “This allows our customers to use smart charging and load management with confidence and without additional integration hurdles. It makes infrastructure operation more cost-effective and convenient.”
The solution is particularly suited for semi-public environments such as corporate parking lots, fleet depots, or charging hubs with restricted user access. In such contexts, intelligent charging coordination provides reliable operation even when multiple vehicles charge simultaneously. At the same time, it helps avoid further operating costs by eradicating the need for new grid connections.
“Our partnership with SMART/LAB enables a fully integrated solution for semi-public charging scenarios,” explains Christian Witt, product manager for vCharM at Vector. “This reduces technical complexity across planning, implementation, and ongoing operation.”
Operators benefit from clearly defined interfaces, predictable implementation efforts, and a solution that is compatible with existing infrastructure. This partnership provides a practical solution for companies, municipalities, and other stakeholders seeking to establish charging infrastructure in closed or semi-public settings.
