Lemvos has released the AutomatePro – a single 'plug and play' unit providing critical components, including positioning, perception, connectivity, sensing, and control.
built for agriculture, Mining, Construction and Maritime robotics industries, the solution is designed to speed up the development of outdoor robotics applications by integrating many of the critical components needed for such systems, including extensive I/O interfaces, several connectivity options, powerful onboard computer, auxiliary power supplies, precision RTK positioning, and multiple camera inputs all within a compact, IP67-rated ruggedised system.
The all-in-one, ROS2-based controller streamlines outdoor robotics development by minimising reliance on external subsystems, decreasing complexity, effort, and potential failure points in the field. Integrated 5G/4G connectivity allows remote diagnostics, teleoperation, RTK corrections, and over-the-air software updates. Also, the company provides a range of hardware and software tools to support further and accelerate clients' outdoor robotics projects.
The solution offers a comprehensive positioning solution, including standalone RTK positioning and RTK differential heading, which is ideal for applications where magnetic bearings are unreliable. An optional wheel tick and direction input allow the fusion of wheel odometry with RTK GNSS and a nine-axis IMU. A powerful onboard NVIDIA SOM also enables clients to run alternative odometry methods if desired. The integrated cellular modem streamlines access to RTK correction data, simplifying deployment and connectivity. There is no necessity to maintain and transport a base station for RTK, delivering a significant advantage for many outdoor robotics applications.
Phillip Abplanalp, co-founder of Lemvos, said, "Building outdoor robotics involves a complex interplay of hardware and software subsystems that must operate reliably over long periods. With AutomatePro, we simplify this challenge by unifying core components into a single, integrated system, giving developers a solid foundation to build and scale outdoor robotics applications".
