Infineon Technologies AG now offers the CYW20822-P4TAI040, its latest Bluetooth module that pushes the low-power and range boundaries for wireless connectivity in IoT and consumer electronics. This module is the most cost-effective in its class, delivers seamless integration, enhanced performance with Bluetooth low-energy long-range support, and outstanding reliability for a wide range of applications. With the right combination of low power and high performance, the device is designed to support the entire spectrum of Bluetooth LE-LR use cases, including industrial IoT applications, smart homes, asset tracking, beacons and sensors, and medical devices.

According to a recent report by ABI Research, future use cases will demand additional improvements across almost all metrics. These include industrial IoT applications such as sensing, robotics, beacons, smart home, and asset tracking. In response, the company's new Bluetooth module supplies unparalleled connectivity and performance, allowing customers to produce innovative products in the IoT and consumer electronics space.

With extensive experience in delivering certified Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE modules, the company's regulatory testing (FCC, ISED, MIC, CE) and certification process with the Bluetooth SIG is precise and rigorous. Its pre-certified modules are optimised for cost, size, power, and range.

"Infineon is thrilled to expand its Bluetooth portfolio with the introduction of the CYW20822-P4TAI040 Bluetooth module to help designers get to market faster," said Anurag Chauhan, director of marketing for the Bluetooth product line at Infineon Technologies. "As a leader in the IoT area in delivering innovative new Bluetooth LE solutions, this new module is a testament to our customer commitment. This new module delivers low power, long range, and excellent RF performance to meet our customers' evolving needs."

The module uses the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology to support 1M, 2M and Coded PHY, along with advertisement and data extension. This ensures seamless and stable wireless connectivity, Bluetooth, low-energy, and long-range connections.

The company's advanced power management techniques in the module allow optimised energy consumption, prolonging battery life in portable devices. As part of its decarbonisation and digitalisation efforts, the module has a very low active power consumption of 1.3mA (Rx @ -95dBm) and 3mA (Tx @ 0dBm), together with a sleep current consumption of 2μA with 32KB RAM retention.

The module is pre-programmed via the EZ-Serial firmware to eradicate customer programming. This helps accelerate the time-to-deployment for Bluetooth-enabled IoT solutions.

With its compact form factor of 10.5mm x 20.2mm x 2.3mm³, the module provides ease of integration into various IoT devices, wearables, and other space-constrained applications.
