Mouser now stocks the BeagleV-Ahead open-source RISC-V SBC from BeagleBoard.org. The SBC pushes open-source to the next level, providing developers more freedom and power to innovate and design industry-leading solutions cost-effectively. This advanced SBC employs the company's BeagleBone Black development platform as its form factor but updates the Arm processor with a powerful RISC-V quad-core processor, AI acceleration, hybrid network connections, and many interfaces to support various consumer and industrial control applications.

The SBC is constructed around a powerful and energy-efficient open-source RISC-V ISA featuring the Alibaba T-Head TH1520 RISC-V SoC. The 64-bit quad-core includes a 2GHz RISC-V Xuantie C910 (RV64GCV) processor operating at up to 1.85GHz, a Xuantie C906 audio DSP, a low power Xuantie E902 core, 50 GFLOPS Imagination 3D GPU, and 4 TOPS NPU at INT8 1GHz computing power with support for Tensor Flow, ONNX and Caffe frameworks for significant AI acceleration abilities. Onboard storage for the SBC includes 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a microSD expansion slot and 16GB of eMMC flash storage pre-installed with Yocto Linux (Ubuntu and Fedora working prototypes are also obtainable).

The SBC includes a broad range of networking, connectivity and interface options. The SBC has a hybrid network connection, integrating 2.4G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless technology. It also provides a one Gigabit Ethernet network interface with integrated magnetics and RJ-45 connector that can provide stable scene mobility, flexibility and security. Along with its six analog inputs, it also has a USB3 super-speed (5Gbps) micro-AB host/device for power and data and add-on board expansion via its mikroBUS shuttle connector, supporting a PWM, I2C, UART, SPI, I2S, and GPIO. Other expansion and connectors comprise two CSIs, micro-HDMI, DSI media ports and two BeagleBone Black cape headers that provide endless design possibilities by allowing P8 and P9 cape header pin compatibility with over 1000 BeagleBone click boards that can stack onto the BeagleV-Ahead SBC board.

The compact 96.5mm × 60.7mm × 19.9mm SBC includes the BeagleV-Ahead board, a 2.4GHz/5GHz antenna, a MicroUSB OTG cable and a quick-start card. With its multiple operating systems that support everything from complex AI systems and industrial controls to simple embedded projects, the BeagleV-Ahead SBC is ideal for IoT applications, robotics, AI, embedded systems and industrial automation/factory control.
