Multiple battery options for handheld enclosures

OKW Enclosure’s DATEC-CONTROL handheld enclosures for large graphics displays are now offered with a wide range of battery options.

The enclosure is ideal for applications incorporating mobile data collection and transfer, medical and wellness devices, measuring and control technology, Smart Factory and Industry 4.0.

Smart ergonomics ensure these large, robust ABS enclosures are well balanced and comfortable to hold despite their capacious size. The large head section houses standard-size LCDs and graphic display modules. The operating area is recessed to accommodate a membrane keypad. Internally there are fastening pillars for PCBs.

It is offered in two versions (with or without a large cutout for a display module) and four sizes from XS (200mm x 58/94mm x 39.5mm) to L (266mm x 90/144mm x 60mm).

They provide a broad choice of battery options: XS (2/3 x AA, 1 x 9V); S (4 x AA, 1 x 9V); M and L (4/5 x AA). The battery compartment lids for sizes XS and S offer a latch and/or screw fixing; these sizes are rated IP 65 (optional). Sizes M and L provide easy access to the battery compartment through a clip-in end section; these sizes are rated IP 54 (optional). All four sizes are offered in two standard colours, off-white (RAL 9002) and black (RAL 9005).

Accessories comprise battery compartments and holders, battery contacts, battery clips, a plug-in contact (for 9V cells), a battery spacer, desktop and wall-mountable charging stations, enclosure end plates, wall suspension elements, display windows, shock-absorbing impact protectors (with/without shoulder strap), sealing kits, a ring eyelet and a strain relief clamp for 5-7mm cables.

The company can supply the enclosure fully customised. Services include CNC machining, laser marking, lacquering, printing, special materials, decor foils, EMC shielding and installation/assembly of accessories.
