Infineon Technologies AG has launched a new generation of its AURIX MCU family. The TC4x series facilitates the trends of eMobility, ADAS, automotive E/E architectures and affordable AI applications. Also, its scalable family concept enables a common software architecture facilitating significant platform software savings.

“With the next generation of the AURIX family, we lay the ground for the electric, intelligent and connected car of the next decade,” said Peter Schiefer, head of Infineon’s automotive division. “We are the number one partner in the fast-changing automotive world,” he added. “With our system knowledge, our passion for innovation and quality, we significantly contribute to making cars environment-friendly, safer and more comfortable.”

AURIX has become the automotive architecture for high-growth and safety-critical applications including as powertrain, safety, assisted and autonomous driving, and domain or zone control. Given the growing vehicle complexity and the enablement of AI implementations, considerable focus has been set on the AURIX TC4x ecosystem to provide fast time-to-market and ease of use. Its scalable family concept is an important ingredient for dependable electronics and software-based applications. Accordingly, demand and revenues for these microcontrollers are predicted to grow strongly in the following years.

The new family supports both eMobility and the advancement of automated driving. It delivers enhanced connectivity as well as advanced safety and security. Additionally, new SOTA features help fulfil car manufacturers’ demands for fast and secure car-to-cloud connection, allowing updates in the field, and diagnosis and analysis during vehicle usage.
