With growing electrification and connectivity, vehicles are at higher risk of cyberattacks, which can have severe consequences. For this reason, it is critical that automotive manufacturers afford adequate protection of telematics data. Infineon Technologies AG has introduced the SLI37 automotive security controller that is an easy to design in and reliable trust anchor to secure safety-critical automotive applications such as 5G-ready eUICC (eCall), V2X communication, car access or SOTA updates.

The unique and robust chip design of the device provides an extended temperature range as well as a lifetime of 17 years. While it arrives with benchmark quality resulting in extremely low failure rates, its greatest advantage is the ability to be employed for multiple applications. For this reason, OEMs can concentrate on a single qualification and design-in process.

With more than 100 million eSIMs in the field, the company's SLI series has already demonstrated its reliability. It also provides all automotive qualifications and certifications demanded by the industry, including CC EAL 6+ and AEC-Q100. Together with its long-term supply commitment and quality support, it allows the automotive industry build the next generation of connected cars without taking security risks.
