Digital isolator enables seamless data transfer

Analog Devices has launched the first in a new series of iCoupler digital isolators that provide a total bandwidth of 10 Gigabits per second. The ADN4624 digital isolator offers four channels at 2.5Gbps, enabling data to transfer seamlessly in the electrical domain and allowing new system architectures in instrumentation, digital health and smart industry. The new digital isolator streamlines design and readily integrates isolation for safety or data integrity. The device is a compact solution that satisfies medical standards and reliably isolates high fidelity video and imaging links, precision analogue front ends and serial interconnects as an option to cumbersome and specialised fibre solutions.

The device provides simplified connectivity, robust isolation and data integrity in severe environments. The new digital isolator gives up to 10Gbps total bandwidth in a single, small footprint device, provides for direct isolation of high-speed serial LVDS or CML at full speed and excludes the complexity of deserialisation. The device enables precision timing with ultra-low jitter to achieve full ADC performance and resolution, including precision ADC sampling clocks.
