New SMT connectors for data centre and networking applications

Mouser Electronics, Inc. now offers the new QSFP 112G SMT connectors and cages from TE Connectivity. The connectors facilitate high-speed data transmission of up to 400Gbps per port for telecommunication, networking, data centres, and test and measurement applications.

The SMT connectors support 112G-PAM4 modulation, providing superior thermal performance and backwards compatibility for easy upgrades to existing solutions. The QSFP 112G connectors feature an integrated thermal bridge and zipper heat sink technology designed to enhance superior thermal performance and signal integrity. With an aggregate data rate of up to 400Gbps per port, each channel is capable of transferring data at rates ranging from 10Gbps to 112Gbps. The QSFP product portfolio includes cages in single, ganged, and stacked configurations, offering various light pipe, bezel mount, and heat sink options. This is ideal for high-density applications, such as servers, storage systems, switches, routers, and network interface cards.

With high-density configurations, these connectors accommodate up to 32 ports in a 1RU switch design, providing extra board trace design flexibility by allowing signal traces to pass between PCB layers. All form factors are supported, including DAC, ACC, AEC, and AOC.
