Analog Devices LT3001 36V 4W Isolated Flyback Converter is created to sample isolated output voltage directly from the primary-side flyback waveform, eliminating the need for third winding or an opto-isolator for regulation. Output voltage is programmed with a single external resistor, and internal compensation and soft-start further decrease the external component count. Boundary mode operation gives a small magnetic solution with superior load regulation. Low ripple Burst Mode operation sustains high efficiency at light load while reducing the output voltage ripple. A 1.2A, 65V DMOS power switch is combined along with all high voltage circuitry and control logic into a five-lead ThinSOT package.

The device runs from an input voltage range of 4V to 36V and can produce up to 4W of isolated output power. The high level of integration and the usage of boundary and low ripple burst modes provide a simple to use, low component count, and high-efficiency application solution for isolated power delivery.

Typical applications include isolated telecom, automotive, industrial, medical power supplies, and isolated auxiliary/housekeeping power supplies.
