Diodes Incorporated offers what is claimed to be the industry’s first HDMI 2.1 transparent, linear ReDriver optimised for power and price in laptop and desktop computers, digital TVs, VR devices, and gaming consoles. The device can support video resolutions up to 10K.

The PI3HDX12211 is the latest HDMI linear ReDriver supports speeds of up to 12Gbit/s per channel. The device is transparent to channel link training, rate, and coding. It provides ultra-low signal latency to secure excellent signal integrity in high-performance applications.

The transparent nature of the device indicates it is agnostic to protocol, supports both static and dynamic HDR. The device features four differential channels with programmable linear equalization, output swing linearity, and flat gain, controlled through an I2C interface or pin-strapping.

Working from a 3.3V supply, the device dissipates only 220mW per channel and maintains a 1200mV peak-to-peak, output swing linearity. The device will facilitate the latest visual experience in laptop and desktop PCs, gaming consoles, and DTVs and STBs as well as docking stations and peripherals, as higher video resolutions develop.
