Analog Devices now offers the ADF4371 and ADF4372 microwave wideband synthesizers. The ADF4371 is one of the highest frequency synthesizers in the industry today, providing the most extensive continuous RF output range available — 62MHz to 32GHz — while the ADF4372 operates at 62MHz to 16GHz for designs that do not need the higher frequency.

These microwave wideband synthesizers comprise a PLL with fully integrated VCOs, LDOs, and tracking filter technology. The devices feature what is claimed to be the industry’s lowest jitter (36fs at 10GHz) and aid the implementation of high-resolution fractional-N or integer-N PLL frequency synthesizers when utilised with an external loop filter and an external reference source.

These compact, 7mm x 7mm synthesizers provide the smaller board space footprint, bandwidth, low noise, increased reliability, and increased clocking range and versatility to complement an extensive range of RF applications such as wireless infrastructure equipment (multicarrier global system for mobile communication (MC-GSM; 5G), clock generation, test equipment and instrumentation, and aerospace and defence-based designs. For development, these devices are supported by corresponding evaluation boards and an SDP-S controller board.
