RS Components has extended its surveillance equipment portfolio with innovative new Cloud-enhanced technology from FLIR Systems that dramatically accelerates the process of reviewing video footage. The new FLIR FX camera features RapidRecap, FLIR Systems’ powerful Cloud-based service that simultaneously plays back all events that triggered recordings. Individual on-screen time tags follow the action to help users quickly select events for detailed analysis. Setting up a RapidRecap sequence is easy using the FLIR FX mobile app, which runs on iOS or Android devices. The app also has features to create notifications of specific events, and control and monitor multiple cameras. The camera connects easily to the Cloud via its own built-in Wi-Fi connection, which can also be used as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot. A USB port is also provided for exchanging data and as a power input. An external power adapter is supplied. The camera itself has impressive features including a 4Mpixel sensor capable of capturing up to 1080p/30fps HD video. In addition, six front-facing infrared LEDs give night-vision range of 10 metres. This can be extended to 20 metres using the optional outdoor camera holder that contains additional infrared LEDs. The FLIR FX product line includes further optional accessories such as an in-car dashboard-mounting bracket, a weatherproof outdoor case, and a waterproof sports case that enhance performance in a variety of professional or enthusiast applications. These include monitoring access to or use of buildings, sensing movement and delivering an alert via the user’s mobile, or recording car journeys to share footage or for insurance purposes, says the company.
