Plug-and-play display designed to speed up new product designs

GTK has launched a new range of TFT displays fitted with an integral micro control unit (MCU) board. The 'plug-and-play' displays can be used as development modules by design engineers and help to speed up new product design times by reducing the time needed for programming, as the board has a built-in command table.

The displays are available in a number of sizes ranging from 3.5- to 8-inch and can be supplied with a 4-wire or capacitive touch screen. The MCU board contains a microSD card connector, which enables the provision of additional on-board memory for images or data. The MCU board also has pre-drilled fixing holes, making it easy to assemble into the finished product, and connectivity is achieved via a simple 5-pin interface.

Clive Dickinson, business manager, optoelectronics, said, "This product is ideal for low to medium production volumes of products with relatively simple display requirements. The other great feature of these displays is that they can be used to test product functionality in the marketplace with minimum investment."
