Kemet has announced the expansion of its high-voltage Goldmax radial-leaded multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) product line to include a new 630VDC rating as well as leading capacitance values. Rated for use in temperatures ranging from -55C to +125C and available in both COG and X7R dielectric, high-voltage Goldmax radial-leaded MLCCs feature advanced ceramic technology in one of the most versatile form factors available. “Kemet’s radial-leaded MLCCs are versatile and highly robust capacitance solutions that are well-suited to a variety of applications,” said Rogelio Gonzalez, operations manager, Kemet. “The key feature is the wire lead termination system, which ensures extraordinary mechanical robustness in harsh and high vibration environments.” Leaded MLCCs are often a preferred solution in application environments that promote printed circuit board (PCB) or component failure. They can be weld- or crimp-mounted, eliminating the need for a PCB, resulting in both space and cost savings. In addition, radial leaded capacitors are non-polar and can be easily integrated into an existing circuit. High-voltage Goldmax capacitors are designed for a variety of applications such as power supplies, automotive keyless entry, temperature sensors, LED lighting and electric motors.
