Thick film chip resistors for precision high voltage applications

15-07-2025 | Stackpole | Passives

Precision high-voltage applications, such as testing equipment, instrumentation, high-voltage inverters, energy storage systems, and medical equipment, require high-accuracy high-voltage resistors. For these applications, a typical VCR of 200ppm to 500ppm leads to significant and unacceptable measurement error. Stackpole Electronics' HVCR is specifically designed and processed for stable resistance at high voltage and is 100% VCR screened to provide a VCR of less than -5ppm for the 1206 size and -2ppm for the 2512 size. This yields an accuracy of no more than -0.2% to -0.5% over a 1000V change, permitting for improved performance and reliability.

The HVCR is available in 1206 and 2512 sizes, with resistance values of 10MΩ and 100MΩ, and a tolerance of 1%, as well as a TCR of 100ppm. The company's manufacturing capabilities extend to other sizes and resistance values as well. The HVCR1206 is rated for a working voltage of 1500V, and the HVCR2512 is rated for 3000V.
