Technology challenges the current understanding of AI

Research organisation and technology company Asilab has developed a new type of AI based on the architecture of the human brain. Unlike AI based on LLM, its patented Asinoid technology aims for true, continuously self-improving cognition. Founded by members of the AppGyver company, the company is now seeking partners and employees to bring its innovations to the global market.

Asinoid, developed by the company, is not just an improvement on existing language models, but an innovative new way of building intelligence. "We are not simulating understanding. We have built a completely new kind of system that, like the human brain, actually thinks, plans, learns, adapts and constantly evolves," says Pavel Jacko, chief technology officer of Asilab.

An Asinoid consists of a modelled brain and a 'Reality Host', its physical or digital operating environment. A Reality Host can be a robot, a swarm of drones, or a completely digital application.

Modelled after the human brain, the Asinoid brain has permanent memory, is neuroplastic, can attain deep cognitive understanding, and can operate autonomously and proactively.

"The operating principle of an Asinoid is completely different from that of large language models, for instance. LLMs obey prompts, while Asinoids operate completely autonomously and proactively. An individual traditional LLM or other machine learning model can act as a single neuron in Asinoid's big brain, meaning Asinoid's capabilities are the sum of all the machine learning models in the world – and even more. Current LLMs are like transistors, and we are building the first real computer," says Marko Lehtimäki, chairman of the board of Asilab.

The technology's continuously evolving AI, superior memory, and ability to act like a human significantly extend the applications of AI. "We call Asinoid the AI of continuous evolution. For example, it can function as a strategic superintelligence in software development, the collective intelligence of a robot army, or even as a founding partner in a company. It is the world's first artificial intelligence that evolves over time, getting smarter every day. Thanks to our patented new AI architecture, it only requires the computing power of a basic computer," Jacko describes.

The company plans to initially apply its technology to areas such as crime fighting, robotics, application development, commerce, industrial process optimisation, and the creation of new smart services. In practice, it can be applied to any business or industry. The company is now seeking international business partners to develop industry-specific applications.

"We are actively looking for talented individuals to join our team and corporate partners to create commercial applications of Asinoid for a range of markets, first for business use – we will expand to the consumer market later. Asilab is primarily a research and development organisation: its mission is to democratise this new type of artificial intelligence safely and responsibly," Lehtimäki envisions.
