HDC floating charge connectors for AGV/AMR charging and warehouse automation apps

19-02-2024 | Mouser Electronics | Automotive & Transport

Mouser now stocks the HDC floating charge connectors from TE Connectivity for AGV/AMR charging. With the rise of smart factories (Industry 4.0) and the necessity for a reliable HDC that can automatically and efficiently charge AGV and AMR for various warehouse automation applications, the company has answered the call with its ingenious hybrid design HDC Floating Charge Connectors.

The HDC floating charge connectors provide a size-reduced hybrid design and clever floating system that automatically allows AGV/AMRs to correct mating positions. The connectors' hybrid power and signal design consist of two 250V, 80A power pins with a rated impulse voltage of 4KV and four 60V, 10A signal pins with a rated impulse voltage of 1.5KV. The floating design provides a 0.5mm tolerance. The hybrid nature of these connectors enables their compact design to help meet reduced package size, space consumption, and weight requirements to allow the miniaturisation of vehicles even in the toughest industrial environments. Combined with the connector's ability to connect and disconnect at up to 30,000 mating cycles, the connectors deliver an extremely reliable and capable solution.

From a safety and regulatory standpoint, the connectors provide finger-touch protection from safety operations in the field, and each connector is UL 1977, TUV and CE certified. The devices are EN 61984, IEC 60068, IEC 60512, IEC 60529, IEC 60664-1, EN 61373 and ISO 6988 compliant.

The connectors are now available in various options, including male or female inserts, male or female power contacts, and male or female signal contacts. These ROHS-compliant, heavy-duty power connectors are ideally suited for warehouse automation applications and AGV and AMR application demands for the mechanised, self-powered transportation of goods.
