Highly flexible FEM for GNSS applications

Mouser now ships the SKY55951-11 FEM from Skyworks Solutions Inc. The SKY55951-11 FEM is intended for GNSS receiver applications such as smart watches, personal and vehicle trackers, 4G/5G cellular IoT modules, or Wi-Fi 6E enterprise access points.

The FEM is part of the Sky5 portfolio, a highly flexible, customisable solution platform that enhances 5G wireless communications by delivering breakthrough performance across mobile and IoT ecosystems. The device features an integrated pre-filter and LNA for L1 and L5 GPS signals, delivering high gain with low current consumption (>2mA @ 1.8V for L1 and L5 paths), with integrated input and output matching for L1 and L5.

The FEM also provides an integrated B13 notch filter, supplying excellent suppression (-50dBm) of cellular low-band second harmonic signals impacting GPS L1 reception and post-filtering for the L5 path for high (>45dBc) out-of-band interference below 1GHz. The device uses SMT in a multi-chip module, providing a proven and streamlined manufacturing solution.
