High reliability and fast response ultra-subminiature base switch

Measuring only 12.8mm x 5.8mm x 6.5mm, the D2FP is one of Omron's ultra-subminiature switches. The changeover switches are characterised by durability, fast response, and high reliability. A sharp snap mechanism with a clear click sound and the light response behaviour (OF = 0.59N) ensure a pleasing use feeling. The optical switches are especially suitable for applications that demand fast reactions, such as computer mice for eSports. The switches are available now from Rutronik.

The extremely fast and chatter-free response of the optical ultra-subminiature base switches, with a response time of only 0.015ms, is accomplished through the contactless operation with sensors. The exceptionally long service life of the switches of up to 70 million clicks at a maximum operating frequency of 300 clicks per minute is made feasible, among other things, by the stable structure of the springs produced by Omron.

Also, the switches score points for their efficiency: the minimum output voltage when the button is not pressed is a minimum of 1.5V. When the button is pushed, it takes only 27µs for the output voltage to drop below 0.4V after the LED lights up. They switch notably stable at an operating temperature of +5C to +40C and a maximum humidity of 60%. The switches accomplish their high reliability through enhanced resistance to changes in the application environment. Integrating the sensors into the switch greatly facilitates the mounting of the switches.
