Flex Power Modules has released the PKE3600A range of DC-DC converters, delivering up to 60W from an industry-standard 50.8mm x 25.4mm x 11.9mm (2" x 1" x 0.47") through-pin package.

The new series has a wide input range of 9-36VDC covering applications using 12V and 24V nominal inputs and supplies a selection of fully regulated single outputs: 5V, 12V, 24V, 48V or 54V. Efficiency is up to 91%, and the parts will operate from -40C to 100C case temperature.

Isolation for the series is 1600VDC input to output and input/output to case, and the parts meet the safety requirements of IEC/EN 62368-1 for functional isolation. Full protection is included against over-temperature, input under-voltage and output over-current, over-voltage and short circuits. MTBF across the series is over 8M hours, according to Telcordia SR-332 Issue 3, Method 1 at 25C. EMC standards EN 55032, CISPR32 and FCC part 15J are met with good margin with an external filter network with suggested components listed in the datasheet. The parts also meet standard EN 45545-2 for railway fire safety. A remote-control input is featured along with an output voltage adjust function.

"The PKE3600A series, with its high-power density and the flexibility of a wide input, is an important addition to our popular PKE range," comments George Zou, product manager, of Flex Power Modules. "Industrial-grade ratings and a high MTBF make it a great fit for demanding applications."
