5W DC-DC in DIP24 package provides 4:1 input range

RECOM now provides another option for customers requiring a 5W, wide input DC-DC with the new REC5K-RW in an economical, industry-standard, plastic DIP24 package. The input range is 9-36VDC, and the output is 5V rated at 1A.

The device has agency-rated 4kVDC/1 second 2kVAC/1 minute isolation, providing low output ripple and noise for demanding industrial and high-end applications. Operation is from -40C to 110C ambient, with derating. A remote on/off control is supplied with typically 3mA standby current draw, and the part is protected against input under-voltage and output short circuits.

The device holds safety certifications to UL 62368-1, C22.2 No. 62368-1, and IEC/EN 622368-1 and operates to 5000m altitude in a pollution degree 2 (PD2) environment. 'Class B' conducted EMI levels can be met with a simple external input filter, and MTBF is over 1.7MHrs at 25C, according to MIL-HDBK-217F (GB).
