Anritsu Corporation offers its new SmartStudio NR IP Performance MX800071A software for the Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A, obtaining greater efficiency to data throughput tests on 5G user equipment.

5G is widely employed for services such as FWA, supplying the last-mile link from the nearest base station to the subscriber's building. The company developed the MX800071A to simplify and optimise data throughput tests needed for developing 5G-based CPE used for FWA.

The increased demand for remote working and home entertainment encourages the development of 5G usage cases providing high-speed, large-capacity communications, with applications such as FWA being one of the most successful. Development of CPE for FWA and wireless-communication modules built into CPE needs data throughput testing employing various communication parameters. However, developers need help with settings requiring specialist knowledge, which lessens the development process's efficiency and raises costs. The device solves these issues by simplifying and optimising complex parameter settings, helping improve the efficiency of tests.

Working with the base station simulator, the device can configure a 4G and 5G SA/NSA radio environment for testing data throughput. Easy-to-set test parameters eradicate the necessity for specialist knowledge of complex protocols. The device has been tested with a wide range of 4G and 5G modem chipsets and wireless communication modules, providing exceptional connectivity with most 4G and 5G UEs.
