Latest fanless ultra-compact GaN FET AC/DC power adapter

25-08-2023 | TRUMPower | Power

TRUMPower has integrated its GaN technology to power its latest 450W power adapter series, the TGM450. The power supplies have an average efficiency of up to 95% and meet the need for compact and fanless power adapters to be used in industrial and medical applications with its compliance to the latest medical 60601-1 and ITE 62368-1 approvals.

The power supplies from this series have a touch current of less than 100µA and withstand voltages of 4,000VAC from input to output (2 MOPP), 1,500VAC from input to ground (1 MOPP), and 1,500VAC from output to ground (1 MOPP), making them ideal for BF rated applications.

The highly versatile power adapters are available with four standard single output voltages of 12V (400W), 24V, 48V, and 56V. These power supplies have operating temperatures between -20C to +60C ambient while derating linearly from 100% load at +40C to 50% load at +60C and operate at altitudes up to 5,000m. The power adapters are also incredibly reliable with an MTBF of 300,000 hours minimum at full load, 25C ambient, calculated per Telecordia SR-332.

The units come in a compact 10" x 4.57" x 1.85" (254mm x 116mm x 47mm) enclosure and are equipped with class I IEC 320/C14 AC inlet. The standard output connector for the 12V model is a Molex Mini-Fit receptacle P/N: 39-01-2125 with Molex terminal P/N: 45750-3111 with a cable length of 800mm. The standard output connector for the 24V-56V output models is a Molex Mini-Fit receptacle P/N: 39-01-2065 with Molex terminal P/N: 45750-3111 with a cable length of 1,200mm. The standard series has separated AC ground and DC return, but it can be connected upon request.
