Available now from Rutronik is Omron's D2EW switch, which provides more design flexibility. The sealed ultra-subminiature basic switch allows multi-angle operation without the extra use of a lever. As well as operation from above, this permits use from the side up to an angle of 90°. With particularly manageable dimensions of only 8.3mm x 7mm x 5.3mm, the switch is one of the smallest switches in the industry.

Features, including a left-right asymmetrical post and rubber boots in red and blue for NO and NC, respectively, provide correct mounting and confusion protection. The switch's sliding contact structure permits quiet operation of up to 300,000 cycles at 30 operations per minute.

Energy efficiency is also an issue for switches, so the switch scores with its minimum applicable load of 50μA. It also switches effortlessly at an operating temperature of -40C to +85C.

The switch is IP67-rated due to sealed construction and is available with solder terminals and long press-fit terminals.

Typical application areas include automotive door locking, detection, EV charging station; safety systems fire/smoke/gas detectors; robotics AGV, AMRs; smart metering; HVAC air conditioners; and household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, dishwasher power tools.
