Bluetooth solution developed based on energy harvesting solution

30-06-2023 | ZF Friedrichshafen | Power

Lammin has developed an eight-output solution with Bluetooth protocol based on the energy harvesting technology of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The solution can be integrated into all kinds of smart home and smart building systems to control lighting or other electrical devices in homes and buildings.

The core element of this product is a tiny and compact energy harvesting generator (20.1mm x 7.3mm x 14.3mm) from ZF. The generator creates enough energy by pressing the button using induction to transmit RF commands to a paired receiver reliably. As a wireless solution, it guarantees flexibility and the possibility to retrofit easily according to individual requirements. Without the use of batteries and with a lifetime of 1,000,000 switching cycles, maintenance and disposal needs of battery replacements can be avoided.

The energy harvesting solution is extremely flexible and can be realised with different RF protocols. Besides the Bluetooth protocol, which is used for the system also, KNX-RF, EnOcean or customer-specific RF protocols can be used.

At electronica, Booth No. 6.2D102, 11th to 13th July, Shanghai, ZF will deliver an overview of its energy harvesting technology.
