Applications for precision resistors are becoming more common. This can be challenging for applications with high power requirements, as many precision resistors need lower power ratings for high precision.

Stackpole Electronics recently released the RNCU ultra high-power thin film chip resistors that deliver high power ratings and exceptional precision. The AEC-compliant RNCU is a 1206-size chip with a 1W power rating and provides tolerances down to 0.1% and TCRs as low as 10ppm. It has exceptional electrical and environmental stability displaying minimal resistance shifts over most industry-standard tests and is anti-sulfur per ASTM-B-809-95 with shifts lower than 1%.
