Metal film current sense resistors offer precision tolerances and low TCR

17-04-2023 | Stackpole | Power

Stackpole Electronics' CSRT current sense resistors provide tolerances down to 0.5% and TCR of 50 or 100ppm depending on value and are AEC-Q200 compliant. Also, the CSRT delivers high power handling with a 2512 size chip rated up to 3.5W.

Power supplies and current sensing circuits have diverse needs because of the broad variety of end products they serve. Applications do not always need a low value to accompany the demand for low TCR. It can be difficult to select a resistor for applications that need low TCR sense resistors yet do not require particularly low resistance values for high current handling. Low resistance values generally deliver low TCR options, but higher resistance values are commonly thick film elements with poor TCR and limited tolerance to just 1%.

The excellent precision performance of the CSRT makes it a good option for power supplies for currents between 2A and 17A, battery management, industrial power control, consumer electronics, computer, measurement equipment, telecom, and LED drivers.
