AC/DCs are a versatile and cost-efficient solution for all environments

RECOM has launched its cost-efficient RACM90-K AC/DC series. It has added a 90W output version to its popular RACM series of AC/DC supplies for cost-sensitive applications. Specifications have not been compromised, however, with the parts providing a wide 85-264VAC input range, tightly regulated single outputs incorporating 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V, and 48VDC, and an operating temperature range from -40C to +90C with derating. Safety certifications comprise 2MOPP/250VAC to IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, ‘B’ and ‘BF’ compliant with dual input fusing for medical applications, and to standards for reinforced isolation for industrial, test and measurement, ITE and household use, all to 4000m altitude. The parts are classified as Limited Power Source and are suited for installation in surge Class 3 and overvoltage category OVC III environments. Also, EN 55032/35 ‘Class B’ emissions limits are satisfied with a large margin. Efficiency is high and is retained down to light loads, complying with ErP requirements, and no-load consumption is lower than 200mW at 230VAC.

The series is offered as an open card in the industry-standard 2” x 4” format or with an optional metallic enclosure.

“Our new RACM90-K series is one of the most versatile on the market,” comments Michael Schrutka, MSc, AC/DC product manager of RECOM. “The parts can be used everywhere from the most demanding medical environments to the global household market, with parts offered at a very attractive price point.”
