New sensor enclosures for miniaturised go-anywhere electronic devices

14-11-2022 | OKW Enclosures | Test & Measurement

OKW has expanded its broad range of sensor enclosures with the tough new MINI-DATA-BOX. Its different versions, sizes, colours, and optional flanges provide 32 possible permutations – all available as standard.

Innovative and compact, it is excellent for applications including IoT/IIoT, automation, environmental monitoring, security and surveillance technology, measurement and control, peripherals, smart logistics, interfaces, and ICT. Its small size also makes it ideal for wearable electronics.

The enclosures can be selected in two shapes: Square and Edge (rectangular), with or without flanges for screws and cable ties, providing fast mounting to ceilings, walls, rails and masts.

The lid and base provide an all-round tongue-and-groove joint for extra strength. They are constructed with tamperproof Torx screws, a key need for medical electronics. IP 65 ingress protection is optional. Inside, there are fixing supports for PCBs and components in the top and bottom sections. Alternatively, potting of electronic assemblies is achievable.

The enclosure can be selected in plan sizes 40mm x 40mm, 50mm x 50mm, 40mm x 60mm and 50mm x 70mm – all of which are offered in two heights (15mm and 20mm). The enclosures are moulded from UV-stable and flame-resistant ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) in a selection of two standard colours, traffic white (RAL 9016) and anthracite grey (RAL 7016). Custom colours are offered on request.
