New field-replaceable connectors offer easy maintenance

Pasternack now offers a new line of field-replaceable connectors, with frequency coverage to 65GHz, that satisfy a wide range of RF/microwave applications.

Its new series of field-replaceable connectors provide SMA, 2.92mm, 2.4mm and 1.85mm connector options with many pin types, incorporating glass bead feed-through or a tab contact, or a pin in a dielectric.

These connectors help in easily replacing damaged connectors without accessing sealed components, and the EMI gaskets offer shielding against RF interference.

Furthermore, contacts for the field-replaceable connectors mate with five-pin diameters ranging from 0.009" to 0.036". Their two-hole and four-hole flange types make for simple assembly in hard-to-reach areas where flexibility is needed.

“Pasternack’s new series of field-replaceable connectors offers superior electrical performance and is engineered for use in test of RF/microwave modules with greater susceptibility to EMI,” said Tim Galla, product line manager.
