Mouser has published a new eBook in collaboration with STMicroelectronics (ST), examining the development of AI and ML at the edge. In Intelligence at the Edge, subject matter experts from the companies offer deep analyses of the challenges and applications for AI and ML development at the edge. The eBook provides articles on topics including intelligent sensors, embedded neural networks, and responsive AI.

AI-driven technology and devices will eventually transform our lives and work, increasing productivity, enhancing the quality of life, and greater environmental sustainability. However, cloud AI applications require immense resources in terms of power, bandwidth, and data while posing important questions regarding privacy and security. As AI migrates from cloud servers to the network edge, ML models deployed on embedded microcontrollers will assist in a dramatic expansion in AI-backed applications and devices. The new eBook provides a variety of articles, infographics, and instructional videos to explain the possible use of ST products in edge-AI applications.

Intelligence at the Edge provides direct links to more than a dozen relevant solutions from ST. Featured products comprise the STM32U5 series of ultra-low-power microcontrollers for advanced applications, incorporating wearable devices, home automation, industrial sensors, and personal medical devices. The microcontrollers are based on an Arm Cortex-M33 core and provide 2MB of flash memory and 786kB of SRAM. ST’s NanoEdge AI Studio enables developers to swiftly develop optimal AI libraries for particuar projects without needing data science skills or knowledge. The product helps developers readily detect security concerns and conduct predictive maintenance.

Solutions available include microcontrollers, power management ICs, sensor kits, and memory devices.
