Secured NFC tags prevent counterfeiting and enhance brand experience

Infineon Technologies AG provides secured NFC tags that satisfy high-security demands for proving authenticity. The NFC4TCxxx tag incorporates an open standard security architecture using AES-128 cryptography and is inherently resistant to physical attacks such as Differential Power Analysis and Differential Fault Analysis. Its secured NFC tags also provide a wide range of memory options, from 304 bytes to 4 Kbytes. This allows brands to store data and create customised applications to enhance customer engagement.

The tags can be programmed with brand-specific landing pages that offer extra product information and show the customer a list of similar products. They can deliver exclusive offers and invitations to special events, which helps to create a long-term relationship leading to repeat purchases. At the same time, brands can use customer analytics to optimise their products and marketing campaigns constantly. By allowing two-way communication between the consumer and the brand, NFC gives a competitive advantage to various brands.

To further accelerate the deployment of brand protection applications, The company has launched the NFC 2Go starter kit for brand protection. The kit demonstrates consumer product authentication enabled by its secured NFC tags with an NFC smartphone. The kit includes NFC stickers, iOS and Android mobile apps, backend cloud authentication software, tag personalisation tools and a user guide.
