New MACH-D connectors for harsh environments for harsh environments

Lane Electronics has announced the availability of the Positronic MACH-D connector. The MACH-D family of products, designed for use in next-generation electronic equipment for harsh environments, is the latest member of the industry-leading D-Sub connector lineup from the company. All MACH-D products provide machined aluminium or stainless-steel shells for the highest durability, precision, planarity and electromagnetic compatibility.

Standard MIL-DTL-24308-style D-Subminiature connectors are increasingly popular in harsh environment applications such as defence electronics, commercial aircraft, medical devices, deep space and more. Solid machined metal shells are the main differentiator between MACH-D products and their M24308 cousins, which are only available in stamped shells. MACH-D connectors are completely intermateable with standard M24308-type D-Subs and, in many cases, outperform the minimum requirements outlined in MIL-DTL-24308. Furthermore, MACH-Ds are performance-comparable and mechanically compatible with Glenair’s Series 28 HiPer-D connectors

The connectors are offered in standard and high-density signal contact arrangements and hybrid versions, combining power and signal in a single connector body. Custom options are available on request. MACH-D connectors provide unique accessory options, including keyed jackscrews, interfacial seals, rear silicone grommets, EMI grounding strips, and a 360-degree banding feature which is useful when space limitations preclude the use of a full-size backshell.
