Mouser now stocks the BMP390 barometric pressure sensor from Bosch. The device is an ultra-small, low-power and low-noise 24-bit absolute barometric pressure sensor with vertical (z-axis) capabilities that allow accurate indoor localisation with smartphones in case of emergencies.

The sensor provides a pressure range of 300hPa to 1250hPa at 0C to 65C with typical relative accuracy of ±0.03hPa. The sensor offers low power consumption of 3.2µA at 1Hz and a small 2mm × 2mm × 0.75mm form factor, making it excellent for various low-power, altitude-tracking applications in smartphone and wearable devices. Through its vertical-specific position abilities and excellent accuracy, the sensor helps mobile phone designers fulfil upcoming FCC requirements for location accuracy.

For development, Mouser also stocks the BMP390 Shuttle Board and the Application Board 3.0. Created to be utilised together, the boards facilitate access to the sensor’s pins to evaluate and build prototypes to test use cases.

The minuscule, single-package solution improves design flexibility to enable easy integration into many existing and developing applications, including smartphones, IoT devices, GPS modules, wearables, hearables and drones.
