Littelfuse, Inc. has released the new EV1K Series Fuses, the first Automotive Grade fuse with a rating of 1000Vdc. They are created and tested to satisfy the overcurrent circuit protection needs of the eMoblility market, specifically EV applications.

The device provides overcurrent protection in EV high-voltage power supply applications, including OBCs, BDUs, Battery packs, DC-DC converter, Traction motor inverter, and Auxiliary loads.

"There is a clear need for more robust safety solutions as the eMobility market transitions from 500VDC to 800VDC pack voltages," said Juergen Scheele, vice president, Business Development xEV/AEB at Littelfuse. "The EV1K series fuses are designed to withstand severe automotive environments, providing 1,000VDC rated Automotive Grade solutions with amperages from 60A to 125A. Fuses up to 600A are also under development."

The series fuse are rated for 1000VDC with interrupting rating of 30,000A and 60-125A nominal amperage ratings. The compact body size of 25mm x 73mm with end caps include integrated bolt-down terminals that are durable against mechanical vibration and shock, which lengthens product life.

The operating temperature range from -55C to 125C and humidity resistance offers reliable protection in a broad variety of environments. The environmentally-friendly component is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and 100% Pb free.
