TDK Corporation has introduced 1.5W and 3W models to the TDK-Lambda CCG series of DC-DC converters, providing full load in ambient temperatures from -40C to +85C with convection cooling. As well as battery-powered equipment, applications incorporate data communications, process control, telecommunications and test or measurement related products.

The CCG1R5 (1.5W) and CCG3 (3W) series is offered with output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, ±12 or ±15, and the dual output versions can also be connected to offer a single 24 or 30V supply. All voltages and output power combinations can function from 4.5V to 18V, 9V to 36V or 18VDC to 76VDC input.

Single output models can be altered utilising the trim terminal over a -5% to +10% range for non-standard voltages. All models are shielded against an over-current condition, and the output can be inhibited utilising the remote on/off function. The input to output isolation voltage is 1,500VDC.

The converters share a common plastic case and measure 15.7mm (length) x 10.4mm (width) x 11.5mm (height). A choice of through-hole or surface-mount terminations are offered in both power levels. Using X-ray inspection, no encapsulation is used on the highly automated production line to avoid quality risks associated with silicone potting compounds during the customer reflow soldering process.

The full temperature range is -40C to +100C, with derating above 85C. Safety certification includes IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 with CE and UKCA marks to the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives.
