TRUMPower announces its low profile TPM120 power adapter series designed to meet home healthcare safety standards for class II models. The series can be accessorised with AC power cord retention clips to help secure the AC cable in place. With a minimum efficiency of 88% at full load, the power adapter satisfying the latest global energy efficiency standards for external supplies with compliance to CEC Level VI and EU CoC EPS Version 5 Tier 2 while offering a meagre no-load power consumption of less than 0.15W.

Measuring 6.90” (L) x 3.55” (W) x 1.11” (H) and contained in a 94V-0 rated polycarbonate case, the power supply has models available for class I and class II requirements with AC inlet options of IEC320/C6, IEC320/C8, IEC320/C14 and IEC320/C18. Class II models meet IEC 60601-1-11 for home healthcare applications. The class I and class II models meet IP54 environmental rating. The units are provided in an extensive range of nine standard single output voltages between 12VDC to 48VDC with outputs ranging between 96W and 120W, model dependent. The standard output connector is a four-pin DIN plug, mating with Kycon KPJX-4S-S socket or equivalent.

The units function with a wide input range of 90VAC to 264VAC and operating temperatures between -20C to +60C while derating linearly from 100% load at +40C to 50% load at +60C. The power supply is also provided with standard overvoltage, overcurrent, and short circuit protections. The units are reliable with 100,000 hours minimum MTBF at 25C ambient, calculated per MIL-HDBK-217F and support an operating altitude up to 5000m. Earth leakage current measures at 150μA maximum @ 264VAC, 63Hz. The power supply can withstand voltages of 4000VAC from input to output (2MOPP), 1500VAC from input to ground (1MOPP), and 500VAC from output to ground.

UL/cUL and TUV approve the series to the latest medical standards, including IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 Edition 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2012, and CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1:2014. The power adapter complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards, including EN 55011, VCCI and FCC class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2 (ESD at ±15kV air and ±8kV contact), EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11.
