Through-hole inductors designed to replace larger more expensive solutions

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced two new automotive-grade IHTH high current, high-temperature through-hole inductors in the compact 1500 case size. For automotive applications, the Vishay Dale IHTH-1500MZ-5A (0.47µH to 4.7µH) provides high saturation current of 156A and very low typical DCR down to 0.19mOhm, while the IHTH-1500TZ-5A (6.8µH to 100µH) provides a saturation current of 106A and typical DCR down to 1.1mOhm. Both inductors offer continuous high-temperature operation to +155C.

Based on IHLP technology, the shielded, composite construction of the devices allows a compact size of 38.1mm x 38.1mm x 19.81mm. This enables the devices to replace far larger and more expensive competing solutions in high current filters for 12V/48V HEV and MHEV vehicle output converters, off-road diesel injection drivers, catalytic PWM heaters, and electrical motors.

The devices handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation and provide exceptional temperature conductivity through their housing. RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green, the devices offer high resistance to moisture, thermal shock, and mechanical shock.
