The RHKW/RHDW series from P-Duke are high-performance DC-DC converters with 3000VAC reinforced isolation with 4.5mm clearance/creeping distances for safety-critical applications. The converters are available now from Luso Electronics. This next generation of board mountable DC-DC converters has been created primarily for the demanding, ruggedised railway and other industrial applications where harsh conditions are common.

The series comprises 3-40W DC-DC converters with single and dual output models in a DIP24 (3-10W) or 2”x1” (40W) package. They offer an input range of 36-160VDC and are furnished with circuits for over/under-voltage protection, over-current and short-circuit and over-temperature protection.

These high-density power converters are accomplished utilising a patented transformer design, which allows the converters to perform with an efficiency of up to 90%.

The high dielectric strength plastic housing with high-thermal conductivity, comparable with metal casing, delivers the isolation between input-case-output and provides an operating temperature range of -40C to +105C.

The company's R&D designers have also equipped these converters with internal EMI circuits: IEC/EN 55032 Class A and IEC/EN 50121-3-2, which simplifies the design and saves PCB space. This series is certified according to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, EN 50155 and EN 45545-2.
